I received a pearl necklace from a recent deceased great auntie and was wondering if I should insure it. if the pearls aren’t real I will feel stupid when I take it to be appraised. so, how can I tell if the pearl beads are real?

I saw it on a bracelet when I was in Athens, Greece, and have been trying to figure out what it was. I remember being told that it wasn’t Mother of Pearl though.

I have been offered a pearl earrings. The seller says it’s a mikimoto pearl. How would i know if it is a genuine mikimoto and not just an ordinary freshwater pearls? How much is the usual price for pearls?
